Mancherial: Buffaloes of a herd sustained injuries when they chewed crude bombs meant for killing wild boars while grazing on the banks of the Godavari river at Badampalli village in Jannaram mandal.
A shepherd said a few buffaloes had their mouths blown off when they chewed the bombs planted in the grass. He took the injured buffaloes to a local veterinary hospital, where they were being treated. However, farmers expressed concern over the safety of cattle and urged officials to prevent such instances in future.
Locals said that four goats were also injured when they chewed the bombs at the same place three days ago. Police said that a case was registered against unidentified persons and investigations were taken up. They stated that a search was launched to trace the offenders and take legal action against them at the earliest.
