Hyderabad: Shastripuram Road over Bridge to open for public access on Friday

Hyderabad: The much-awaited Shastripuram Road over Bridge (RoB) is set to open to the public on Friday, with the GHMC making arrangements to inaugurate the RoB at 8 a.m.

The decision to allow public access came to light after a report in these columns on ‘Hyderabad: Shastripuram RoB ready but awaits inauguration, commuters frustrated,’ recently.

The four-lane RoB is 16.60 m wide and 490 m long. The GHMC spent Rs 71 crore on its completion.

The advantage of this RoB is free traffic movement from Mailardevpally to Falaknuma RTC depot via Vattepally, reducing travel time for commuters by 30 minutes. It also reduces air pollution levels by lowering fuel consumption and reducing intermittent delays, according to a press release.
