Hyderabad:Â Osmania University students, along with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) student activists, here on Wednesday staged a protest on the university campus demanding the State government immediately release pending fee reimbursement dues and scholarships, citing financial hardships.
Protesters said several of them come from below poverty line families, and lower- and middle-income families and have secured admission based on merit and scholarship. Due to delay in release of the fee reimbursement arrears and scholarships, students claimed that they were facing financial distress.
ABVP national convener Jeevan warned that if the scholarships and fee reimbursement arrears were not released and professor vacancies were not filled, the student community would launch large-scale protests.
