Top Iranian, Brazilian diplomats discuss Gaza war

Referring to the efforts of the Brazilian government in proposing a draft resolution to the UNSC over ending the conflict in Gaza, Amir-Abdollahian once again stressed the need for establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and sending humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.

He also thanked Brasília for dispatching humanitarian aid to the war-torn Gaza.

Vieira, for his part, hailed Iran’s constructive efforts in establishing peace and security in the region and the world.

He also called for a ceasefire in Gaza, sending aid to Gazans and providing an opportunity for the safe withdrawal of foreign nationals from the enclave.

The Israeli army has widened its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless airstrikes since the surprise attack by the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas on Oct. 7.

At least 9,227 Palestinians, mostly children and women, have been killed in Israeli attacks since then, while as many as 1,500 Zionist soldiers and settlers have also been killed, according to official figures.

Basic supplies are running low for Gaza’s 2.3 million residents due to the Israeli regime siege, in addition to the large number of casualties and displacements.
