Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, head of Iran’s negotiating team in Islamabad Talks, upon returning from Pakistan, spoke to reporters.
“We stated from the beginning that we do not trust the Americans. In less than a year, they attacked us twice during negotiations. So it is they who must win our trust. Of course, winning our trust is difficult and time-consuming due to their bad faith, but they are the ones who should decide whether they are ready to gain this trust or not.”
Ghalibaf emphasized that in any circumstances, the Iranian nation is rapidly advancing on its path to success and relies only on Almighty God and its own capabilities.
Responding to a question about the composition of Iran’s negotiating and expert team, he said that the Iranian delegation was a national team and everyone was sincerely united, serious, and creative in protecting the rights of the Iranian nation, just as the Iranian people stand united against the enemy.
He thanked the team for their continuous talks over more than 20 hours, and also thanked the Iranian journalists for neutralizing enemy psychological warfare and conveying the voice of the Iranian nation to the world.
Reacting to US President Trump’s positions against Iran, Ghalibaf said: “Such threats have no effect on the Iranian nation. We have proven this is not just a slogan, and the world saw it with its own eyes. We showed everyone the extent of the enemy’s desperation. We have proven we do not surrender to threats. The Iranian nation has demonstrated this in practice over 47 years of its Revolution in all arenas: military, economic sanctions, political pressure, and so on.”
He emphasized, “If America wants to find an exit door for itself, as I said, the only way is to decide and win the trust of the Iranian nation. You are indebted to the Iranian nation and still have much effort to make to compensate.”
Ghalibaf concluded by saying the Iranian nation has a rich civilization, and addressing Trump, he stated, “If you fight, we will fight. If you come forward with logic, we will respond with logic. We will not bow to any threat. Test our will once again so that we teach you an even bigger lesson.”
