Hyderabad: A minor domestic dispute turned fatal when a man allegedly killed his wife in Shamshabad on city on Sunday, sending shockwaves among local workers.
According to police, the couple Badar Batra and his wife Santasi Batra (25), natives of Odisha, had migrated to Ramanzapur in search of livelihood. They were working at a brick kiln and living nearby.
For the past week, the couple had been frequently arguing over family matters. Co-workers and the kiln owner had intervened earlier and managed to pacify them. However, the couple reportedly had another argument on Sunday.
Police said the husband allegedly attacked his wife while she was asleep, resulting in her death. The incident came to light when the co-workers noticed something was wrong and alerted the police.
The Shamshabad police reached the spot, took the suspect into custody. Further investigation is on.
