KT Rama Rao warned of protests against delays in SCCL medical board meetings affecting coal workers’ dependents, accused the coal company of irregularities, and demanded timely action while also targeting the state government over alleged administrative lapses

Mancherial: BRS working president KT Rama Rao asserted that they would protest against the delay in convening meetings of the medical board to invalidate workers suffering from ailments and to allow their dependents to get placed in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). He was addressing cadres of the BRS at the party’s district office here on Sunday.
Rama Rao threatened to lay siege to the main office of SCCL if it failed to conduct meetings of medical boards at regular intervals. He recalled that the then BRS government provided jobs to 16,000 dependents of coal miners by convening the meetings regularly. However, the state government is now causing inconvenience to the families of the miners by delaying the meetings.
The working president alleged that the coal major was riddled with irregularities. He accused Srijan Reddy, the brother-in-law of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, of controlling the administration of the SCCL. He asked the public to question legislators on resolving their challenges in towns and villages falling under the state-owned coal major. He stated that they were ready to face an inquiry into alleged irregularities in the recruitment of coal miners.
Earlier, Rama Rao visited the government medical college in Vempalli village in Hajipur mandal. He then attended the marriage of the daughter of former Bellampalli MLA Durgam Chinnaiah. He felicitated councillors from Kyathanpalli municipality at a programme held at the residence of BRS district president Balka Suman.
Boath MLA Anil Jadhav, Asifabad legislator Kova Laxmi, former MLAs Koneru Konappa and Diwakar Rao, BRS leaders Dr RS Praveen Kumar, Vijith Rao, Johnson Naik and others were present.
