Two police officers were caught by ACB while accepting a bribe at Shamshabad airport outpost in a case linked to a fake certificates racket. They allegedly demanded money to spare accused persons’ family members from arrest.

Hyderbad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught two police officers oon charges of bribery at the Shamshabad Airport Outpost Police Station on Wednesday.bCircle Inspector Kanakaiah and Sub-Inspector Siddeshwar were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe.
As per information available, the case is linked to an earlier fake educational certificates racket, in which the main accused had already been jailed. The two officers allegedly threatened the accused persons’ family members with arrest and demanded Rs 15 lakh to spare them. After negotiations, the deal was reportedly settled at Rs 2 lakh.
Acting on a complaint, ACB officials laid a trap under the supervision of Ranga Reddy District DSP Anand. The officers were caught while accepting the bribe amount.
The ACB teams had also carried out searches at the airport outpost police station for nearly five hours.
The tainted officials will be produced before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally for remanding in judicial custody. Further investigation is on.
