Hyderabad: Tension prevailed in LB Nagar on Wednesday after a dispute broke out at a chicken outlet in Karmanghat during the statewide shutdown of poultry shops.

The incident occurred when the members of a local chicken shop owners’ association confronted the owner of a shop that remained open despite the bandh call. Angered by the behaviour of the owner on keeping the business open, the protesters engaged in a heated argument with the outlet owner.

The situation escalated into a scuffle between both sides, during which some agitators allegedly threw trays of eggs from the shop onto the road. They further expressed strong opposition, saying that while others were complying with the shutdown in solidarity, a few were defying the collective decision and keeping their businesses open.

On receiving information, the local police intervened and brought the situation under control.

No serious injuries were reported in the incident.
