Hyderabad: A man was caught while attempting to sell exotic turtles of American and Mexican origin at Chandanagar on Monday.
According to police officials, the suspect, Awaz (24), a software employee from Gauthami Nagar, had been keeping four turtles at his residence for the past two years.
As he was preparing to vacate the house, he tried to sell the animals to another person at a price of Rs 6,000 each.
Acting on a tip-off, Chandanagar police intervened, seized the turtles, and took the man into custody. He was later handed over to Forest Department officials for further action. An investigation is underway.
