Sangareddy: An adult male civet cat was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle while crossing a road in the BHEL township late on Monday night.
Residents spotted the carcass on the roadside on Tuesday morning and alerted forest and BHEL officials.
The sighting of a civet cat in the township surprised many locals. Despite being located within the urban expanse of the State capital, the BHEL township continues to serve as a habitat for several wild animals due to its significant green cover.
Forest officials were expected to reach the spot for further action.
