Lok Adalat: 6,572 cases in Khammam, 7,866 cases in Kothagudem resolved

The National Lok Adalat saw a strong response in Khammam and Kothagudem districts, with thousands of cases resolved, including cybercrime refunds and criminal matters. Police officials highlighted the role of awareness and cooperation in ensuring speedy and fair settlements

Lok Adalat: 6,572 cases in Khammam, 7,866 cases in Kothagudem resolved

Khammam: Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt informed that the National Lok Adalat received an overwhelming response across the district, resulting in the resolution of 6,572 cases.

In 77 cybercrime cases, a refund amount exceeding Rs 36 lakh was handed over to the affected persons. Of the 6,572 cases that offered opportunities for amicable settlement, 764 were FIR cases, 1,837 e-petty cases, and 3,971 drunk-and-drive cases, besides 77 cybercrime cases.


In a statement here on Monday, the CP commended the police officers and staff who worked diligently to resolve these cases by raising awareness about Lok Adalat, which ensures justice for both parties involved.

Similarly, in Kothagudem district, as many as 7,866 cases were resolved in the Lok Adalat. In Kothagudem, 5,054 cases were resolved, of which 21 were civil cases and 13 motor vehicle accident cases, resulting in settlements worth Rs 1.34 crore, while 4,814 were criminal cases and 219 were pre-litigation cases (PLC).

In Yellandu, 797 cases were resolved, of which 11 were civil cases, 634 criminal cases, and 152 bank, telephone and promissory note cases. In Bhadrachalam, 1,729 cases were resolved, of which 1,626 were criminal cases and 103 were bank, telephone and PLC cases, while in Manuguru, 286 criminal cases were resolved.
