Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of blatantly misleading the Assembly over the ownership of Raghava Constructions and levelling allegations against the BRS leaders.
Speaking to mediapersons after the mining row in the Assembly on Saturday, Harish Rao said the Chief Minister’s claim distancing the firm from Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy was false. He asserted that the company is directly linked to the Minister’s family, naming his wife Madhuri, son Harsha Reddy, and brother Prasad Reddy as directors. “How can immediate family be termed distant relatives?” he asked, adding that the company itself was named after the Minister’s father.
He charged the Chief Minister with indulging in diversionary politics by ordering probe into mining leases since 2014 and accusations against the BRS leaders with mining business. He accused the Congress government of evading accountability on alleged mining irregularities and demanded strict action.
Former Minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy stated that the government was resorting to intimidation by announcing investigation into mining activities for last 12 years. He condemned the government’s attack targeting the BRS leaders and reminded that the Congress failed to prove its allegations against BRS leaders. He reiterated the demand for a House Committee to investigate the illegal stone crusher operations.
“Such attacks and threats are not new for us. Both the previous and the current bosses of Revanth Reddy targeted BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao during Telangana statehood movement. Now, Revanth Reddy is targeting BRS working president KT Rama Rao and senior leader T Harish Rao,” he said.
