TGNPDCL recorded its highest-ever peak power demand of 6,574 MW on Friday, surpassing the previous day’s record, while ensuring uninterrupted power supply, with officials attributing the rise to increasing consumption and improved operational efficiency

TGNPDCL records peak power demand of 6574 MW

Hyderabad: The Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) Chairman and Managing Director Karnati Varun Reddy said a peak power demand of 6,574 MW was recorded on Friday in the company’s jurisdiction. This was the highest peak demand ever recorded in the company’s limits to date, he said.

Power consumption within the company’s jurisdiction has been increasing steadily and setting new demand records. The peak power demand of 6,574 MW recorded on Friday surpassed Thursday’s record demand of 6,457 MW, he stated.


Irrespective of the demand, the TGNPDCL CMD, in a statement, assured that uninterrupted power supply was being maintained.

All measures have been taken in advance to prevent any technical issues. This peak demand record reflects the organisation’s operational efficiency and the improved quality and uninterrupted power being supplied to consumers, he added.
