Hyderabad: In the wake of the sudden shortage of fuel and gas in the city, a daylight LPG cylinder theft which occurred at Alkapoor Township in Narsingi has triggered concern among residents.

According to information available, an unidentified person stole a gas cylinder from a delivery auto while it was stationed in the locality on Thursday afternoon. The entire act was captured on CCTV cameras which were installed in the community, and the footage has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.


In the video clip, two unidentified youths were seen approaching the gas delivery auto on a scooter which was halted in the area. While the auto driver was away reportedly to deliver a gas refill to an apartment in the colony, noticing it the youths quickly stopped by and within fraction of seconds pulled a gas cylinder up from the auto and fled from the spot on the scooter.

The incident comes at a time when residents across the city have been seen queuing up at fuel stations and gas agencies due to unverified rumours of shortages of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders.
