India Post has launched three new time-bound delivery services in six metro cities, including Hyderabad. The ‘24 Speed Post’ and ‘48 Speed Post’ services ensure faster delivery, offer tracking features, and include refunds for delays under certain conditions.

Hyderabad: The Department of Posts has launched three new postal services with guaranteed time-bound delivery in six metro cities, including Hyderabad.
Jyothiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Communications, along with Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Communications, unveiled the ’24 Speed Post’, ’24 Speed Post Parcel’ and ’48 Speed Post’ services from New Delhi.
Speaking at a launch event at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s College auditorium in King Koti, Hyderabad, Dr Veena Kumari Dermal, Chief Postmaster General, Telangana Circle, said the new services are now available in Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.
In Hyderabad, 38 booking offices and 94 delivery offices will handle ’24 Speed Post’ and ’24 Speed Post Parcel’ services, while 176 booking offices and 94 delivery offices will manage ’48 Speed Post’ service.
All the consignments under these services will be treated on a priority basis. The ’24 Speed Post’ is designed for documents with guaranteed next-day delivery, while ’24 Speed Post Parcel’ is for parcels up to 5 kg, which will be delivered next-day. The ’48 Speed Post’ service ensures delivery of documents within 48 hours.
India Post will offer a refund in case of delivery delays, subject to certain conditions. Additional features include specialised packaging, end-to-end tracking with SMS alerts, ‘Book now, Pay later’ and free pickup services for business customers, OTP-based secure delivery, and API integration.
