A servant couple from Nepal allegedly stole valuables worth Rs 2 crore from a businessman’s house in Jubilee Hills on Saturday night. The couple, employed recently as housemaid and security guard, fled after breaking open a locker while the homeowners were asleep.

Hyderabad: An international gang involving a servant couple from Nepal decamped with property worth Rs 2 crore from the house of a businessman at Jubilee Hills on Saturday night.

According to the police, the couple, who are from Nepal, were employed as a housemaid and security guard at the house of Anirudh Reddy, located at Jubilee Hills Road No 25, around a month-and-a-half ago.


On Saturday night, when Anirudh and his wife were asleep, the couple entered a bedroom, broke open the locker and collected gold, silver, diamonds and expensive watches before escaping.

The theft came to light on Sunday morning when Anirudh and his wife woke up and found the servants missing and when they checked the cupboard, they found the property missing.

On a complaint, the Jubilee Hills police registered a case and started an investigation.

The police reached the spot and collected the footage recorded by the surveillance cameras.
