Telangana universities introduce new UG, PG programmes in aviation, climate science and maritime technology

Hyderabad: From Airport and Air Traffic Management, Maritime Technology to Climate Science and Environmental Studies to Medical Microbiology, the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE), along with the State Universities, is rolling out several new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the next academic year.

The new programmes integrate technology, management, legal frameworks and sectoral expertise, making students readily employable after graduating from the course. Newer avenues with specialisation in marine, defence, tourism and sustainability too are offered.

The undergraduate programmes will be offered as three year or four years with honours, with a provision of multiple entry and exit option options. Students can exit after each year, earning a certificate after one years, diploma after two years and degree after three years. The four-year course allows students to pursue an Honours or research degree providing advanced opportunities for research innovation.

TGCHE Chairman Prof. V Balakista Reddy said the programmes were designed to bridge critical skill gaps, enhance employability quotient and empower youth from all backgrounds. “We prioritized industry linkages through the MoUs, advisory boards, internships and faculty development, ensuring curriculum relevance and practical exposure for every student,” he added.
