Panic at RGI airport after hoax bomb threat email

An anonymous bomb threat email sent to Hyderabad’s RGI Airport on Saturday caused panic and delayed a Singapore-bound flight by 13 hours. Security teams thoroughly checked the aircraft before declaring the threat a hoax.

Hyderabad: Panic prevailed at the RGI Airport at Shamshabad on Saturday after anonymous persons sent an email to the airport warning of a bomb in a Singapore-bound aircraft.

The flight was scheduled to leave in the afternoon and after receiving the email the authorities alerted the airport security. The anti-sabotage teams checked the aircraft for over an hour and later declared the email a hoax.


The flight later took off after a delay of 13 hours in the night. The RGI Airport police, on a complaint, registered a case and are investigating.
