Congress councillor disqualified in Isnapur Municipality for voting against party whip

A Congress councillor in Isnapur municipality was disqualified for allegedly violating the party whip and voting in favour of the BRS chairperson candidate. Following a complaint by DCC president Nirmala Jagga Reddy, officials declared the ward seat vacant

Congress councillor disqualified in Isnapur Municipality for voting against party whip

Sangareddy: Election officials of Isnapur Municipality disqualified Congress councillor Patlolla Madhavi for voting in favour of BRS municipal chairperson candidate. The councillor from the 8th ward in the municipality was also elected as vice-chairperson with the support of BRS councillors.

District Congress Committee president Nirmala Jagga Reddy filed a complaint stating that the councillor had violated the party whip issued ahead of the elections held on February 16. Following the complaint, the officials declared the winning candidate disqualified and the ward seat as vacant.


BRS councillor Mothe Sumalatha was elected as the chairperson of Isnapur Municipality.
