Mahabubnagar: In a shocking case of negligence in preserving bodies at a government hospital, stray dogs nibbled a body kept in the postmortem room at the Government General Hospital, Jadcherla.
Bheemesh, a resident of Nagashala, had accidentally fallen into a lake and drowned. His body surfaced on Monday and was shifted to the government hospital in Jadcherla for postmortem examination.
However, hospital staff reportedly placed the body on the ground and failed to arrange even a stretcher. As a result, stray dogs managed to enter the postmortem room and nibbled at the body.
Family members and relatives of the deceased fumed at the hospital management over the negligence and demanded stern action against the staff responsible.
