Hyderabad: A fine all-round performance by Hemanth Reddy, who claimed seven for 16, including a hat-trick and then scored a breezy knock (53, 30b, 5×4, 4×6), helped Galaxy Cricket Club record a six-wicket win against Vizag Colts in the final of the 12th edition of the UCC cricket tournament at ACA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
Batting first, Vizag Colts were bundled out for 141 in 19.4 overs with G Manish (39, 33b, 4×4, 2×6) being the main scorer as the others struggled against Hemanth.
In reply, Galaxy reached the target in 16.4 overs with Hemanth in the thick of action with his bat and also thanks to a handy knock by Pandurangaraju (33, 15b, 1×4, 4×6).
PVR Prasanth, former vice-president ACA, MS Kumar, general manager of ACA Game Development, JKM Raju, stadium in-charge, and RV Ch Prasad, ACA Ranji selection committee chairman, graced the valedictory function.
The scores: Final: Vizag Colts 141 in 19.4 overs (G Manish 39, Rhony 26, Hemanth Reddy 7/16) lost to Galaxy CC 142/4 in 16.4 overs (Hemanth Reddy 53, Pandurangaraju 33, SV Rahul 2/14).
