Adilabad police busted a six-member gang, including a minor, involved in mobile phone snatching. Seven phones were seized from the accused. Police said the gang targeted passengers and hospital visitors and warned the public against buying refurbished mobiles without receipts

Six including a minor arrested for stealing mobile phones in Adilabad

Adilabad: A six-member gang, including a minor boy, involved in alleged stealing of mobile phones was busted by the police. Police seized seven mobile phones from the gang.

Adilabad Two town Inspector K Nagaraju said that Syed Naveed Ali, Mirza Mushraf Baig, Shaik Bilal, Shaik Harshad, Bansode Kishana and a 15-year-old boy were apprehended for their role in snatching mobile phones at the railway station, RIMS-Adilabad and the town bus stand.


Police said that the gang was notorious for grabbing mobile phones from passengers and attendants of patients by threatening them or waylaying them. The members of the gang would initially demand cash from the victims. They would take away mobile phones when the victims did not have money. Police advised the public not to buy refurbished mobiles from repair centres without receipts.
