Hyderabad: Telangana’s Singarapu Babu, international para sitting volleyball coach from Rudrangi village, Rajanna Sircilla district, has been appointed as a Member of the Indian team selection committee for the 2026 Asian Para Games.
He has been officially nominated by the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) as a Technical Observer and Selection Committee Member to select the Indian team for the 2026 Asian Para Games, scheduled to be held in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan.
The selection process for the Indian team will take place during the 14th National Para Sitting Volleyball Championship (Men & Women), to be held from February 26.
During this championship, the selection committee will identify outstanding players who meet national and international standards and form a strong and competitive Indian team for the prestigious event.
Coming from a remote village in Telangana to the international stage and now serving the nation in such a responsible role is a matter of immense pride for the state’s sporting community.
Singarapu Babu thanked the Paralympic Committee of India for entrusting him with this significant responsibility.
