The Telangana CID has arrested Vikas Kumar Sakhare, former COO of Falcon Group, in connection with a large-scale deposit fraud. The accused allegedly lured investors with fake invoice discounting schemes, promising high returns.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday arrested Vikas Kumar Sakhare, former chief operating officer (COO) of the Falcon Group, in connection with the large-scale deposit fraud involving several crores of rupees.
The accused Sakhare, (40), was arrested at his residence in Hyder Shah Kote on Wednesday, and was later produced before a magistrate for judicial remand.
According to the CID, the case pertains to criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal conspiracy in the name of an invoice discounting investment scheme operated through the Falcon Invoice Discounting application.
“The accused created fake investment deals in the names of reputed multinational companies and lured depositors with promises of high returns over short-term plans.
Around Rs 4,215 crore was collected from 7,056 depositors, of whom 4,065 victims were allegedly cheated to the tune of Rs 792 crore by Capital Protection Force Private Limited, which operated under the Falcon Invoice Discounting App,” the officials maintained.
Three cases were initially registered in 2025 at the Economic Offences Wing of the Cyberabad police under Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Telangana Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments Act, 1999, before being transferred to the CID for further investigation. In addition, 10 other cases have been registered against the company and its directors across India.
