Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Central Crime Station police have a case against an education consultancy firm for allegedly duping several people by promising MBBS seats.
A doctor from Tirumala Hills in Malakpet approached the firm’s office in Ameerpet after coming across a medical counselling advertisement on Facebook in October 2025. The firm reportedly assured her of securing an MBBS seat for her son and collected Rs 5 lakh as service charges, promising a refund within 45 days if the seat was not secured.
In November, the accused allegedly claimed that a seat had been confirmed at a private medical college in LB Nagar and collected an additional Rs 13.90 lakh, issuing a fake allotment letter.
The fraud came to light when the victim verified the documents and found them to be forged. The office was later found closed.
CCS police said the firm is suspected to have collected around Rs 1.15 crore from multiple victims using similar promises. Based on the complaint, cases have been registered against the company’s directors and members.
