Madhusudhan Linga wins singles title at Abu Dhabi Masters Games


Madhusudhan Linga clinched the 50 years and above singles title at the Abu Dhabi Masters Games, leading a strong Indian showing that yielded five gold, two silver and seven bronze medals in the tennis competition.

Hyderabad: Madhusudhan linga from New Club Secunderabad defeated Magdonio Villarreal of Philippines 6-2, 6-2 in the final of the 50 years & above category of the Open Master Games tennis competition in Abu Dhabi.

Madhusudhan is presently ranked No.6 in India and No.91 in the world in He also competes in the doubles partnering Dr.Nandyala Narsimhareddy and both won four tournaments in the last one year.


Earlier, Madhusudhan won two gold in the 50 years & above doubles and 45 years & above mixed doubles besides a silver in the 50 years & above singles in the Pan Pacific Master Games in Gold Coast (Australia).

Former Davis Cup referee A.R. Rao won the singles title and a bronze in doubles in the 70 years & above category while Ramaraju and Subramanyam Raju won the 60 years & above doubles, Gurunath Dame singles title in the 30 years & above category and Srikanth silver in 30 years & above doubles and a singles bronze.

In all, Indians won five gold, two silver and seven bronze in the Abu Dhabi Master Games tennis championship.
