Two killed in midnight crash near Shadnagar

Hyderabad: Two men were killed on the spot and three others suffered serious injuries in a late-night road accident near the Raikal toll plaza near Shadnagar on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Purushottam Reddy and Madhusudan Reddy, both residents of Turkayamjal.
According to information available, the victims were returning to Hyderabad in an Innova vehicle after completing a pilgrimage to Arunachalam in Tamil Nadu when the mishap occurred.


Preliminary investigation suggests that an unidentified vehicle rammed into their car near the toll plaza around midnight. The impact was so severe that Purushottam Reddy and Madhusudan Reddy suffered serious multiple injuries and died on the spot.

Three other passengers in the vehicle suffered grievous injuries. On receiving information, police rushed to the spot, shifted the injured to a nearby private hospital for treatment, and cleared the damaged vehicle to restore traffic flow.

A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the accident.
The footage of surveillance cameras from the toll plaza and nearby areas is being examined.
