Rajanna-Sircilla: The BRS captured the Sircilla municipal chairman post without any disturbance as the party secured an adequate majority in the municipal elections. The third ward councillor and former municipal chairperson, Jindam Kala, was elected as chairperson, and 34th ward councillor Darla Sandeep was elected as vice-chairman.
Out of 39 wards, the BRS won 27, Congress 6, BJP 5 and one Independent. There was no contest for the chairperson and vice-chairperson posts as the BRS crossed the magic figure of 21. With this, it was once again proved that Sircilla is a stronghold of the BRS. Party working president KT Rama Rao also represents the Sircilla constituency as an MLA.
