BRS candidate wins Dubbak ward through coin toss as party eyes municipality

A BRS candidate clinched victory in Dubbak municipal elections after a tie in votes was resolved through a coin toss. With seven wards already secured, the party is hopeful of forming the municipal body as counting continues.

BRS candidate wins Dubbak ward through coin toss as party eyes municipality

Siddipet: A BRS candidate secured a narrow victory in the Dubbak municipal elections after the result was decided through a flip of a coin.

BRS candidate Yellavva polled 357 votes, while her rival from the BJP secured an equal number, forcing officials to resort to a coin toss to determine the winner. The luck favoured the BRS candidate.


The BRS has already won seven of the 20 wards and is hoping to bag the municipality. The BJP managed to win one ward, while the Congress is yet to open its account.

The results of only eight wards had been declared so far.
