The Bharat Rashtra Samithi registered a sweeping victory in the Gaddapotharam municipality, winning 15 of the 18 wards, while the ruling Congress secured two wards. An Independent won one ward. Elections to the civic bodies were held on February 11.

Sangareddy: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) swept the Gaddapotharam municipality, winning 15 out of 18 wards, while the ruling Congress party managed to secure two wards. An independent candidate won the 18th ward.
Except for the 18th, 15th and 7th wards, the BRS won all the remaining wards in the municipality. Party cadre began celebrations after securing a clear majority in the civic body.
The BRS also won a considerable number of wards in four other municipalities in the Patancheru constituency. The election to the civic bodies was held on February 11.
