Sangareddy: Sangareddy MLA Chintha Prabhakar on Monday said that, fearing defeat in Sangareddy and Sadasivapet municipalities, Congress leader T Jagga Reddy was resorting to false propaganda to mislead voters.
Referring to a pamphlet distributed by the Congress party in Sangareddy and Sadasivapet municipalities, which claimed that Jagga Reddy had secured sanction of Rs 300 crore from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority for internal road works, Prabhakar said it was only a request letter and that the government had not sanctioned any funds so far. Speaking to reporters in Sangareddy on Monday, he, however, said the BRS would certainly appreciate the Congress party if it actually succeeded in bringing such a huge amount to the two civic bodies. On the Congress promise of distributing 5,000 plots to the poor and homeless on the outskirts of Sadasivapet town, the BRS MLA said there was a strict ban in the State on allotting plots to individuals. He questioned Jagga Reddy to explain how such allotments could be made in this district alone.
With the election date nearing, Prabhakar said the Congress party was spreading false information only to win the confidence of voters.
