A woman was allegedly murdered by her husband at Laxmipur village in Jagtial rural mandal early on Saturday. Police said the accused attacked her while she was asleep. A case has been registered, and efforts are on to trace the absconding suspect.

Karimnagar: A woman, Adaraveni Sattavva, was brutally murdered, allegedly by her husband, Mallaiah, at Laxmipur in Jagtial rural mandal in the early hours of Saturday.
According to villagers, Mallaiah attacked Sattavva with an axe while she was asleep. He also slit her throat with a knife before attacking her with the axe.
She died on the spot after sustaining severe bleeding injuries. Family disputes were said to be the reason behind the murder.
The couple had two children. While the son was working in a private company in Hyderabad, the daughter was staying with her parents.
Police have registered a case and are investigating. The body was shifted to a hospital for postmortem. The accused, Mallaiah, is absconding.
