Hyderabad: A superintendent engineer working with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was caught by the ACB for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15 lakh through a computer operator for doing official work.
The official, P Chinna Reddy, Superintendent Engineer working at Kukatpally zone, had demanded the amount from a contractor for verifying the works and processing a bill of Rs 1.40 crore.
The contractor approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau and lodged a complaint. Based on his complaint, the ACB laid a trap and on Wednesday caught Chinna Reddy and the computer operator B Praveen Kumar when they accepted the bribe amount.
Both of them were arrested and are being produced before the ACB Court in Hyderabad.
