Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested a junior assistant of the School Education Department in Bandlaguda mandal for allegedly demanding and accepting a Rs.10,000 bribe from a school headmaster to retain the school’s name on the SSC examination centre list.

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Wednesday caught a junior assistant of school education department red-handed when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a school headmaster.
According to the ACB officials, Shiva Prasad, junior assistant working at the Deputy Educational Officer, Bandlaguda mandal, had demanded the amount from headmaster of a school for “not removing the name of the school from SSC exam centre list.”
On a complaint, the ACB registered a case and laid a trap. Shiva Prasad was caught red-handed when he accepted the amount. He is arrested and being produced before the ACB court in Hyderabad, said the ACB official in a press note.
