Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has unearthed disproportionate assets allegedly worth over Rs 17 crore belonging to H. Nikesh Kumar, an Assistant Engineer (AE) with the Irrigation Department.
Earlier on Friday, searches were conducted at 25 locations across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Following the outcome and seizures, ACB booked a case against Nikesh Kumar and took up investigation.
Now, placed under suspension, Nikesh Kumar, who was previously caught red-handed accepting a bribe and jailed in May 2024, is now under scrutiny for amassing wealth far beyond his known sources of income. The assets uncovered include prime real estate properties.
He, along with K. Bhansi Lal (Executive Engineer), K. Karthik (Assistant Engineer), and P. Ganesh (Surveyor), were caught accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a builder from Manikonda to process and forward No Objection Certificate for a construction project at Neknampur in Manikonda.
Case is under investigation.
