The Golconda Task Force and Film Nagar police arrested suspended NTPC employee T Balaji Nayudu for allegedly posing as a senior Finance Department official and seeking money from legislators and members of the public in the name of government schemes.

Hyderabad: The Task Force (Golconda), along with Film Nagar police, arrested T Balaji Nayudu (53), a suspended NTPC employee, for allegedly cheating legislators and members of the public by posing as a senior government official.
Police said Nayudu collected contact numbers of public representatives from websites and called them, impersonating a senior Finance Department official at the Secretariat.
He allegedly sought money in the name of government schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana and unemployment schemes.
Officials said Nayudu has 43 cases registered against him in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He was previously booked under the PD Act in 2016. He also confessed to his involvement in two recent cases registered at Film Nagar and Mancherial police stations.
