Former roads and urban development minister Mehrdad Bazrpash said US President Donald Trump carried the fire of war to the Strait of Hormuz, but the smoke rose from American gas pumps and reached him at the ballot box.
In a post on X, Bazrpash said the bill now sits on the White House desk: an energy shock, higher prices, public fatigue with war and, now, Trump’s political defeat.
He said the cost of warmongering cannot be paid with political bluff or the illusion of hegemony.
