Resistance to achieve ‘great victory’ in battle against Israel: Nasrallah

Resistance to achieve ‘great victory’ in battle against Israel: Nasrallah

The Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah’s secretary-general says the axis of resistance is certain to achieve a “great victory” in its ongoing battle against the Israeli regime.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made the remarks in a televised speech broadcast in the capital Beirut on Friday on the occasion of the International Quds Day. The pro-Palestinian event is held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan every year based on a call by the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.

“We will continue the battle until the resistance and Gaza are victorious,” Nasrallah said. “We are facing an event that has put the survival of Israel in danger and revealed its fragility,” he added.

Resistance movements across the region, including in Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen, have been staging daring attacks against targets belonging to the Israeli regime and its supporters since October 7, when the regime began a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.

“The important thing is that we stand firm and be steadfast in Gaza, the [occupied] West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq, and this is a battle in which we are heading towards victory,” Hezbollah’s leader said.

Nasrallah hailed al-Aqsa Storm, a retaliatory operation by Gaza’s resistance movements following which Israel launched the war.

“There is no doubt that the al-Aqsa Storm is a historical turning point in our region, and what comes after it is not the same as before for the enemy,” he stated.

‘Israel stopped short of realizing all of its goals in Gaza’

Nasrallah noted that, despite six months of war on Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stopped short of realizing all of the goals he had been seeking to achieve through the military campaign, including elimination of the coastal sliver’s resistance groups and returning those who were taken captive by the resistance during al-Aqsa Storm.

“The massacres and starvation that the enemy is waging in Gaza is aimed at mounting pressure and intimidation, since the enemy has no horizon before it, neither in the field, nor in negotiations,” he said.

“Netanyahu and his coalition have no choice but to stop the war, and this in itself is a loss for them.”

‘Iran will certainly respond to Israeli attack on consulate’

The Hezbollah leader, meanwhile, pointed to the recent terrorist attack by the Israeli regime against the consular section of Iran’s Embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus, which killed seven members of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

“Be certain that the Iranian response regarding the issue of the Iranian consulate will inevitably come,” he said.

“The foolishness that was committed by Netanyahu concerning the attack on the Iranian consulate will open the door to resolution of this battle,” Nasrallah predicted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Hezbollah leader paid homage to the late founder of the Islamic Republic, commending “Imam Khomeini’s decisive declaration that he stood by the Palestinian cause.”

“Iran, in its position, has been a [source of] support since 1979 for everyone who resists this [occupying] entity, and with its support, it has changed many equations,” Nasrallah said.

“Iran does not abandon the oppressed and its friends,” he noted.

On the other hand, Nasrallah went on, countries had to be “ashamed” of friendship with the United States, which he said, was “responsible for crimes and wars in the region.”
