In a statement on Wednesday, the UNRWA confirmed that the two schools run by the agency have completely been destroyed in Israeli bombings in the central and northern parts of the blockaded Palestinian territory.
On Sunday, Adnan Abu Hasna, a spokesperson for the UNRWA, said that the Israeli regime was deliberately targeting its buildings across Gaza, in which thousands of Palestinians have taken refuge.
While condemning the attacks, the spokesperson said the UN agency was working to document all these airstrikes to refer to relevant international bodies.
UNRWA was established in 1949 following the mass displacement of Palestinians from their land by the Israeli regime during the Nakba, or catastrophe.
The UN agency provides public services such as schools, healthcare and other forms of aid to Palestinian refugees.
