The chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the Israeli regime has been defeated by the resistance of the Palestinian people as well as its own mistakes.
“The Zionists seek to fake victory by defeating children and infants as well as bombing the oppressed [Palestinian] people in Gaza. They are subject to attacks and [war of] attrition [waged] by the Palestinians every day,” Major General Hossein Salami said on Monday.
“The enemy has been defeated by the resistance of the innocent, faithful Palestinian people and its own mistakes,” he said.
He added that the Zionists have expanded their operation in the Gaza Strip and exposed themselves to the Muslim fighters, as a result of which “at least 15 tanks and several personnel carriers are destroyed and some of them are killed every day.”
The ongoing military operation by the Palestinian resistance groups against Israel – named Operation Al-Aqsa Storm – has undermined the United States’ position in the world, he asserted.
Israel has been carrying out relentless air and ground attacks on Gaza, including hospitals, residences, and houses of worship, since October 7, when Palestinian resistance movements launched a surprise attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the regime.
Since the beginning of the war, Israel has killed at least 13,000 Palestinians, including more than 5,500 children and 3,500 women, in its bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
Pointing to Israel’s bombings of innocent people in Gaza, Salami said the Tel Aviv regime has suffered a defeat in ethics, has been isolated in politics, and has acted stupidly in tactics.
“The Zionists are repeating their mistakes and their collapse and annihilation lie in their mistakes,” he reiterated.
‘West’s hidden policies’
He said the developments in Gaza revealed the “hidden” policies of Western governments and the Zionists against Muslims.
Israel’s war on Gaza also exposed the true face of the US and its allies, who claim to advocate human rights, freedom, democracy, security and welfare, the IRGC chief commander added.
He emphasized that the US, Israel and their allies came to the region to occupy Muslim countries under the pretext of promoting democracy, yet they “killed hundreds of thousands of Muslims over the last 20 years, destroyed many cities, and in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, and Syria, ruins of their policies have remained.”
Salami further lashed out at the Americans for provoking serious conflicts among the Muslim nations and imposing a blockade on the Gaza Strip while preventing the establishment of a ceasefire there.
