The international outcry against Israel’s brutal strikes on Gaza is growing every day, as demonstrated by the large-scale rallies across the globe, demanding an immediate end to the bloodshed in the besieged territory.

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters filled the streets of Toronto and Ottawa in Canada’s Ontario province on Saturday, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Toronto police said in a statement that large crowds marched from the US consulate through the streets of the city’s downtown.

The protests which were set to take place in more than two dozen Canadian cities were launched after a call by the Palestinian Youth Movement for a national day of demonstrations.

The group is calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and the end of restrictions on humanitarian aid allowed into the territory. It’s also demanding Canada end its support for Israel’s military action against Palestine.

In Montreal, thousands marched with many carrying Palestinian flags and chanting “free Palestine” and “ceasefire now.” Demonstrators said they were there to protest the 75-year-old occupation by Israeli forces.

Similar rallies also took place on Saturday in cities in other parts of the world including Washington DC, London, Paris, Berlin and Turkey.

Those are just the latest in pro-Palestine protests. Numerous rallies have been held across the world ever since the Gaza war began nearly a month ago. People are outraged at the rising civilian toll in Gaza as well as international inaction to bring an end to Israeli brutalities.

Israel has been bombing Gaza since October 7, when the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movements launched Operation al-Aqsa Storm in the occupied territories in response to the Israeli regime’s intensified crimes against Palestinians.

The Israeli war on Gaza has so far killed 9,770 Palestinians, including 4,800 children, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
