Abbas asks Blinken for a stop in war on Gaza

Israel has been bombing Gaza since October 7, when the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movements launched Operation al-Aqsa Storm in the occupied territories in response to the Israeli regime’s intensified crimes against Palestinians.

The Israeli war on Gaza has so far killed nearly 9,500 Palestinians, including nearly 3,900 children and 2,509 women, and over 24,160 Palestinians have also been wounded, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The regime has also cut off one of the most densely populated places in the world from basic supplies, like water, electricity, and fuel. Shortages of medical supplies and food have left 2.3 million Palestinians at risk of starvation.

Israel regime military killed more than 50 people in air raids late on Saturday.

The following is the latest on the Western-backed Zionist Israeli regime’s war on Gaza today:

Mahmoud Abbas calls on Blinken for a truce in war on Gaza:

Mahmoud Abbas told Antony Blinken there must be an immediate ceasefire to the war in Gaza during a meeting with the top US diplomat in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to Abbas’ spokesperson, adding to a growing chorus of Arab leaders stressing the need for a truce as the death toll in Gaza approaches 10,000.

Al Jazeera reported from Ramallah that the meeting between Blinken and Abbas lasted less than an hour.

During a news conference in Amman, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stressed that Arab countries want an immediate ceasefire, warning that “the whole region is sinking in a sea of hatred that will define generations to come.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, whose country has been acting as the sole conduit for foreigners to escape Gaza and for aid to get in, called for an “immediate and comprehensive ceasefire.”

Zionist minister says dropping an atomic bomb on Gaza an option:

Israeli regime Minister of Heritage Amichai Eliyahu has said that in the ongoing war with the Palestinian Resistance groups “one of the possible options” for Israel is dropping a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip.

Eliyahu, who is a member of the Otzma Yehudit party in Israel made such stark remarks during a radio interview, according to media.

As regards the Israeli prisoners held by Hamas, he said that every war comes with costs. He further asserted that the Gaza Strip should no longer exist on Earth and the occupying Zionists should resume building settlements there.
