India is set to launch the Haj Suvidha app for Haj 2026, enabling real-time tracking, health monitoring, and emergency alerts. Over 1.75 lakh pilgrims will perform Haj, including 400 single women, with smartwatch integration and enhanced safety measures.

Jeddah: India has accelerated preparations for upcoming Haj and hopes to be in the forefront to align with Saudi Arabia’s tech-driven pilgrimage system aimed at improving safety and hassle-free Haj amid current conditions.
India’s own ‘Haj Suvidha’ app will be enhancing experience of spiritual journey of Indian pilgrims from this year as it not only helping them to provide necessary information but also track them to their real time location in sea of crowd where missing and reunion of pilgrims is one of the main challenging issues.
Haj Suvidha app is similar to Saudi Arabia’s flagship app, Nusuk, a unified digital platform to manage millions of pilgrims across the globe.
Haj Suvidha app functioning through smartwatch will be equipped with 1 GB data from Saudi internet providers that integrate pilgrims from arrival to departure and offering solutions to most of the common problems that pilgrims encounter, said Raman Singh, joint secretary of ministry of minority welfare in government of India.
Addressing a press conference in Jeddah on Wednesday evening, the official highlighted the salient features of ‘Haj Suvidha’ from emergency SOS to real time flight information and real time navigation in holy sites and rituals.
Ram Singh also revealed that the app has a feature pedometer that records walk steps during pilgrimage to assess pilgrims for their health status.
Elaborating about ‘Haj Suvidha’ app, Consul General Fahad Khan Suri termed it as a game changer in Indian pilgrimage and can be installed in any smartphone android or ios. Upon being asked he said that smart watches will be provided to pilgrims as part of the Haj package.
The officials said that the first flight for Haj season 2026 will be arriving on April 18 from Mumbai, they informed that a total of 1.75 lakh pilgrims are scheduled to perform Haj this year. Asserting Indian government Nari Shakti empowerment this year about 400 single women will be performing Haj without accompaniment of Mahram, a male kin who is unmarriageable to woman.
They added that this year’s Haj a greater number of pilgrims than previous Haj will be traveling through train service in Mashaer areas and also between Makkah and Madinah.
The Indian officials also said that more than 350 health care professionals would be deployed to provide comprehensive health care services that include 24/7 dispensaries in holy sites.
C. Shanvas, Chief Executive Officer of Central Haj Committee, Consuls Sadaf Choudary and Imad Hussain also attended the press conference.
The Indian official team is currently in the Kingdom to review arrangements for its pilgrims.
