Revenue Minister denies involvement in land rows alleged by BRS

Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Wednesday rejected allegations by BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao over the Nadargul land issue, calling them baseless propaganda. He said the BRS leaders who have been making allegations against his Cabinet colleagues were now targeting him. He said BRS leaders were attempting to divert attention from their own record by targeting the Congress government.

Addressing a press meet along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and D Seethakka at the State Secretariat on Wednesday, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the 370-acre land in Survey No. 613 was registered to private firms in 2014 and mutated in 2016 during the BRS regime. He questioned how the present Congress government could be linked to decisions taken then.

Citing records and satellite images, he said development activity on the land began in 2022 under the previous government. He also alleged that the BRS failed to file a counter in court when the matter reached the Supreme Court in 2022, while the current government filed a detailed counter in March 2025, asserting it as government land.

The Minister denied any links between his family and the companies involved, challenging the opposition leaders to prove otherwise. He termed allegations around Vattinagulapally lands and Kothwalguda crushing units as misleading. He said these issues were private disputes and were wrongly attributed to him.
