Class 9 students from Gitanjali Vedika School in Narsingi visited the Telangana Pollution Control Board as part of an educational tour to learn about vehicular pollution, environmental protection and sustainable mobility solutions.

Narsingi Gitanjali Vedika Students Visit TGPCB for air and vehicular Pollution Awareness

Hyderabad: Students of Class 9 from Gitanjali Vedika, Narsingi, visited the Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) as part of an educational study tour to create awareness on environmental pollution, air pollution checks, and control measures.

Dr.WG Prasanna Kumar, Senior Social Scientist, TGPCB, explained the major causes of Vehicular &air pollution, including oxides of nitrogen, carbon emissions, benzene, and ozone, which can trigger lung diseases and other health issues. He also spoke about remedies and preventive measures to check vehicular pollution.


J. Sumathi, Environmental Scientist, TGPCB, educated the students on the harmful effects of littering, particularly the practice of throwing chocolate wrappers and plastic waste from buses directly onto the ground.

Akshay, founder of SwitchEko spoke explained sustainable mobility solutions to reduce pollution and highlighted the importance of EVs, hydrogen fuel, CNG, and other eco-friendly fuels as effective alternatives. The students were accompanied by teachers V. Kalpana, Vijaya Shanthi, and Prasad of Gitanjali Vedika.
