Mahindra University has launched an Economic Policy Centre to promote research and policy discussions. Its first event focused on Hyderabad’s growing GCC ecosystem, with IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu highlighting the city’s role in India’s economic growth.

Mahindra University launches Economic Policy Centre in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Mahindra University has announced the launch of its Economic Policy Centre, a new platform for research, dialogue and policy engagement on topics of national economic significance.

The centre hosted its first event on the theme ‘Hyderabad: Powering India’s GCC Ecosystem. The inaugural ceremony featured a keynote address by D Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology.


Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University, said the Economic Policy Centre will help drive meaningful conversations on issues that matter to India’s growth story, beginning with Hyderabad’s emergence as a leading GCC hub.

Dr Anadi Saran Pande, Dean, School of Management, Mahindra University, added: “The establishment of the Economic Policy Centre will strengthen our institution’s role in public policy discourse, which is globally informed and locally grounded.” Dr Nilanjan Banik, Head, and Dr Pradeep Racherla, Deputy Head, Economic Policy Centre, and others participated.
