The workers, supported by BRS leaders including Gellu Srinivas Yadav, set a Sunday deadline for reopening, warning of a massive demonstration at GHMC headquarters if their demands are not met.

Hyderabad: Workers and daily labourers who depend on Ziaguda Abattoir for their survival are up in arms against the municipal authorities for shutting down the facility, depriving them of their livelihood.
On Tuesday, groups of labourers protested against the GHMC and the Congress Government for shutting down the Ziaguda Kamela, located under the Karwan constituency, for the past eight days.
Expressing concern over the loss of income, the workers raised slogans against the State government and blamed Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy for their present plight.
Supporting the cause of the protesting workers, including a large number of vendors involved in the sale of meat directly at the slaughterhouse, TRSV leader Gellu Srinivas Yadav and other BRS leaders from the Karwan constituency visited the facility and interacted with them.
Setting Sunday as the deadline for authorities to reopen the abattoir, Gellu Srinivas Yadav maintained that BRS would continue to stand by the poor.
“If the Ziaguda Kamela is not reopened by Sunday, we will personally take charge and ensure that the poor labourers can resume their businesses within the slaughterhouse premises,” he said.
The TRSV leader, on the occasion, also announced that in the coming days, a massive protest, featuring all the affected workers, would be organised at the GHMC headquarters.
