Hyderabad: In a major crackdown, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), along with Chilkalguda, Sanathnagar and Adibatla police, arrested six persons involved in drug trafficking across the city and seized contraband worth Rs 63.65 lakh.
The arrested have been identified as Sai Nikhil Yadav alias Sai, Simhachalam, Venu, Akshay Patel and Babburi Aditya Vardhan alias Aditya.
Police seized 115 grams of MDMA from Sai Nikhil Yadav in Chilkalguda and 1.005 kg of hash oil from Simhachalam and Venu in Sanathnagar. Likewise, ecstasy pills, OG cannabis, LSD blots, along with a two-wheeler, mobile phones and cash were seized from Akshay Patel and Aditya Vardhan in Adibatla.
Police said the suspects used social media platforms, courier services and encrypted applications to procure and distribute drugs while evading police detection.
Officials said some of the suspects have prior criminal records under the NDPS Act.
