Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in a textile shop at Bandlaguda in Rajendranagar on Monday midnight. No casualties were reported in the incident, but heavy property loss is estimated.
The incident occurred at Siddhi Vinayaka Textiles, a two-storey shop, where the fire suddenly broke out and spread rapidly across both floors.
According to information available, thick plumes of smoke engulfed the surrounding area, creating panic among locals. Residents immediately alerted the fire department and police, following which fire personnel rushed to the spot.
Firefighters engaged in fire fighting for nearly two hours to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby establishments. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been triggered by a short circuit, possibly due to rising temperatures. Authorities are yet to ascertain the exact cause and estimate the total loss.
